A standing ovation

My high school biology teacher 'Shashi' mam scolded me for spilling curd on the desk. The occasion was to display the bacteria in curd, and the lack of the same in milk. Take a drop of curd, put it on slide and cover with the coverslip was the only task. I was bad then at experiments and I am still equally bad in spilling tea , milk and what not in my kitchen. Pardon my lousiness, the note is about the original practical conducted then in 1997 in a high school class.  I was recently forced fed through institute's mailing list that such an experiment is conducted in a BS-MS practical class and the instructor wrote a full fledged article on the same in an education journal, which was then amplified through a popular science article in some magazine. Before you judge me critically, the point to ponder over is the level of science education then and now, not the glorification of the trivial.
